Pipeworks

View this post on Instagram

While the prospect of a canned IPA doesn’t sound alien when you think of @pipeworksbrewing, they’ve just released their first. Space was discovered in their orbit for this bright, tropical/grassy 7.3% creature that revolves around your palette before descending with a crisp, balanced finish. Sadly, Infinite Galaxy will have a definite ending, as like most, their Galaxy hop supplies are dwindling and this brew will eventually exhaust their supply. I’ll be enjoying until that asteroid hits □□□✨□. . . Behind the scenes on my stories □□. . . . #craftbeer #beertography #pipeworks #pipeworksbrewing #infinitygalaxy #hops #ipa

Been beating the heat with my favorite Pale Ale from the ‘hood, Lizard King. If amazon offered this on subscription like our diapers and wipes, I would Prime that ish □□□ . . #craftbeer #chicago #pipeworks #lizardking #mosaic #paleale #beertography @pipeworksbrewing

? Player 1 Game A ?. I was very pumped to see @pipeworksbrewing promote one of my favorite new hops to Ninja-Status. Idaho 7 is a unique one with a lot of Apricot & Tangerine, then this unusual hint of black tea. I shy hard away from 10% IPAs these days because I’m soft, but this was very easy to put down and the Idaho 7 hop flavor was well-accentuated and featured despite the strength of the beer. Well done PDubs ⚔️⚙️?. . . . #chicago #craftbeer #pipeworksbrewing #ipa #Idaho7 #hops #beertography #ninja #kungfu #nes #nintendo #vintagegames

The Jones Dog (b1) from @pipeworksbrewing, their 2014 FoBAB Gold medalist, still drinking superb. Most of the carb was gone, but storing this cold did it a big favor as every flavor was still integrated perfectly, with the heat and sweetness toned down. Fresh is usually better in my book, but this fella was fun to take out for one last walk all these years later. Good boy. #craftbeer #chicago #pipeworks #thejonesdog

The War Bird is getting unruly as he senses its days in the spotlight coming to an end. Lizard King, a year-round Mosaic hopped Pale, makes its debut Friday night @emporiumchicago (Logan) then hits shelves first thing next week. Some printing issues delayed the much-anticipated can debut, but the king is ready to sit on his throne. Dont worry War Bird, you will be a staple in my fridge. #craftbeer #chicago @pipeworksbrewing

On Monday, @pipeworksbrewing released the 4th unique edition of what I refer to as "the Fish series". Spotted Puffer is a double IPA brewed with honey and with passionfruit added. Unlike the original member of the series Square Grouper, where the honey is the star of the show, Spotted Puffer dials back the honey to make way for the passionfruit to share in on the spotlight. Dangerously drinkable at 9.5% and fruity, but not the type of fruity you are used to. It's great to see Pipeworks continue to brew and expand this series, more and more frequently, as they've become arguably the most sought-after IPAs in the Midwest. Cheers □□□#craftbeer #Chicago #Pipeworks #SpottedPuffer

Mocha Abduction from @pipeworksbrewing is an out of body experience. Wow, smells like a Hershey bar, or is that the chocolate left on my fingers? Seriously, this is my new favorite of the abductions thus far. Not the slightest bit oily, nice dark chocolate sweetness up front followed by an roasty expresso finish. I was expecting more booziness, but was pleasantly surprised at how smooth this baby is. Well done! #craftbeer #Chicago #PipeworksBrewing #Pipeworks

Had to try this one again and yup, still out of this world. Bravo @pipeworksbrewing, bravo. This Unicorn Galaxy Double IPA is the perfect beer for winding down a long day in orbit. #Craftbeer #Chicago #Pipeworks

I'm a big fan of the approach @pipeworksbrewing takes with their barrel program. The liquid is given extended time in the barrel, never feeling rushed, adding extra nuance along the way. The fair pricing clearly keeps the customer and the long-game in mind as you don’t feel like you're being shaken down for every last nickel in your pocket. I don't drink a lot of these beers this time of year, but I felt like popping the Coffee Break abduction over the weekend and scraping off some of my photoshop rust. The body, barrel presence, melding of the coffee all worked great □☕️□ . . . #craftbeer #pipeworks #coffee #abduction #stout #bourbon #beertography

Mango Guppy from @pipeworksbrewing, a "scaled" down version of their DIPA fish series at an innocent 5.5%. It tastes like gummy bears and I am 100% good with that ?? #craftbeer #chicago #ipa #beertography #fish

I "made out" quite well with this Close Encounter hopped up stout from @pipeworksbrewing. Very hoppy and roasty, an IPA lover's stout. How long until it's acceptable to text it back? ??? #chicago #craftbeer

The wait is almost over. Pipeworks CANS hit distribution this Thursday July 16th. Leading things off will be Ninja Vs. Unicorn, their delicious double IPA, with 4 more beers to follow shortly. Congratulations to @pipeworksbrewing on the impressive milestone and new facility. I can't even begin to imagine how much blood, sweat and tears have gone into making this all happen. I'm sure everyone in Chicago was very patient with you as they waited for these cans to arrive ?? #craftbeer #Chicago #Pipeworks #NinjaVsUnicorn #Cansin2022 and special thank you @freddybeer1 for the major assist ?

Few video game moves were more infuriating than E Honda's hand-slap in Street Fighter 2. Few DIPAs are less infuriating than @pipeworksbrewing's Sorachi Ace Vs. Nelson Sauvin. Maybe the name and label are just in my head, but it really felt like two competing tastes going on here. I wouldn't say that the intense lemon flavor of Sorachi Ace complements the more tropical taste of the Nelson. I'd say the two clash for an epic hop battle. Pipeworks has the creative DIPAs on lockdown. Real solid beer, epic label art as always. What was your least favorite video game move? #craftbeer #Pipeworks #Chicago

Just finished getting the last of my stuff out of my old apartment, enjoying the new view of the Chicago skyline from my new roof. Unfortunately I now live 7 blocks from Pipeworks instead of 3, but I think I'll manage. Capping off the night with A Midsummer Night, an Apricot Pale Ale by @PipeworksBrewing. This is one of those beers that I just knew I was going to love before I ever tried it and it surely did not disappoint. Less orangey that your typical citra blasted pales/IPAs which I'm surely not opposed to, but this was a nice change of pace. These guys are on fire. #craftbeer

After a long journey in search of the Unicorn that slayed his father, Citra Ninja from @pipeworksbrewing is back! Hazy orange, citra-hopped, smooth as silk DIPA. One of the best Chicago beers that you've never tried. #craftbeer #chicago #pipeworks #citraninja
